Faculty Senate Proposal Documents
The Faculty Association has an Information Item on its January 13, 2022 meeting agenda regarding the potential change in the structure of the UNF FA from an Association Model to a Senate Model. The information in the meeting packet provides the proposed by-laws, but not the document noting the concern of some faculty nor quick access to the meeting minutes of the Faculty Affairs Committee meetings where this item was discussed.

Proposed Faculty Senate By-Laws
This is the draft of the By-Laws that were reviewed by the Faculty Affairs Committee. There have been some changes to the document over time. The most recent version is the one located in the agenda packet.
Task Force Meeting Minutes (need to sign in to VPN)
This is an easy link to the minutes of the Task Force. They met as a group over the course of the 2020-2021 academic year. The last posted meeting minutes of that body was April 2021.
Faculty Senate Proposal Concerns
Last August, I shared this document with John White, which outlines concerns a group of faculty has about the proposed model to ask if he would be willing to share it with ‘all faculty.’ He declined, so I then sent it to the FA Executive Committee so they would know of its existence. Here are the email exchanges between me, John White, the Executive Committee, and Hana Hamdi, who runs the Executive Committee meetings.
The Faculty Affairs Committee discussed the proposed by-laws generated from the Task Force three times. Each time, pertinent questions were raised.

The Executive Committee meeting met in December (the minutes have not been approved yet), and voted to put the proposal forth as an informational item in order to receive feedback from faculty.
