Vacation is over, and it is time to get back into the writing and gather your data mind set. We got back on Saturday, and since then, I have been chipping away (stress the chipping part) at some of the Web site coding. On the upside, I have had two paper proposals accepted at conferences in the fall, so needless to say, I need to get the data gathering done so I have something to present.
On a different note, when I have not been working on the dissertation, I have been playing in the dirt. I love this time of year. Plants are on sale at the garden centers and I can see what is coming up strong, and what plants need a little extra boost. I bought two Crimson Mandevilla plants to climb on the deck, a yellow honeysuckle for near the garage, and more Morning Glory and Moonflower seeds, which I planted along the fence. With luck, they will grow up the posts an cover the stockade fence with flowers to enjoy when sitting in the back yard. The only task I have left is to paint the garage before I plant the Honeysuckle, and it looks like I can get that done this weekend.
So now the Adirondack chairs have been stained and polyurethaned, the plants have been planted, the vegetable gardens are done, and the herb planters are hung, all I have to do now is wait for thing to come into full bloom and enjoy the scenery….. while writing.
