$486.00. Do you know what I could do with that money? Well, I’ll tell you what I am going to do – buy books. Yup, that is the cost of books for this semester’s classes. I guess it is not as bad as it could have been. On the other hand, I was hoping to be able to find them cheaper on line, but once you factor in shipping and handling, I was only able to get a better deal on 3 of the 12 books I need. So after work today, I am off to the bookstore to sign over my left limb, or maybe my first born. I’ll think that over throughout the day. Needless to say, with buying 3 books online, and the others either used (whenever that is possible) or new, the grand total with the 10% research assistantship discount, and the 7.5% sales tax, the grand total for the cost of books is… $359.43. And I guess that is not too bad… averages out to $29.95 per book. Hmmm…
On another note, it is damp and drizzly today. Not quite the mood-picker-upper. But that’s okay. I am reviewing stats, so I guess it is better than 70 degrees and sun. Then I would want to be outside! I try to look at the bright side of things. But $359.43 … nothing bright about that, at least not on my salary. That is more than a week’s pay. At times like this, I miss the pay of my former jobs!
Okay – on the up side, as I reread through the statistics stuff, it is all coming back to me. And I think it is even clearer than it was the first time around. When I get home today, George and I are going to play around with SPSS. On Monday, I entered a data set (which I named The Scream) and he has added on to it since then. We got data about each state’s variables from the world almanac. I guess tonight we will do some more correlation and some regression. Don’t my dates sound fun!
Well, back to work I go. Have a wonderful day. Ciao!
